Thanksgiving in Germany

I am posting Thanksgiving updates after Christmas and almost a month into the new year.  Whoops.  All of these holidays run together anyway.

Our plans to host a large "American Thanksgiving" for German friends never came to fruition. However, we still managed to have a huge meal.  We had a casual day and our friends cooked the whole meal with us. We spent the morning baking and the whole afternoon cooking. We even cleaned the kitchen before we ate the meal, which is a Thanksgiving first for us. Teamwork can make magic happen. It is also magical when you can spend an entire holiday in your pajamas.
Thanksgiving:  Before

Rolling in dough. Well we wish, but rolling out dough is almost better.

Being punished for stealing dough.

Yet he got no punishment for eating the filling.

Raw and delicious looking at the same time.

The poultry king hard at work.

Pumpkin Pie.

The best pecan pie I have ever tasted!  Despite the fact that it was baked in a frying pan.

Our guests

Dinner for 4.
