Fröhliche Weihnachten!

The Christmas season in Germany is peaceful and old-fashioned.  In addition to greatly missing family and friends, I missed some of the flashier and merrier traditions that we love from the US (specifically Christmas music, tacky decorations, and flashy lights), but the simpler Christmas here has major charm to it.  In particular, the Christmas markets are very charming (much more to come on the Christmas markets later).

Lucky for us, we were not alone during Christmas!  The husband's brother and his girlfriend came to visit us and gave me a reason to do things like decorate and buy presents rather than sulk around about not having a real Christmas this year.  They brought the Christmas spirit with them and I was super happy to have them while we sat around playing games, cooking, eating, drinking, and opening presents--all in our pajamas.
The stockings were hung under the TV with care.

Some of the presents were bigger than the tree.

The view from our apt.  It snowed on both Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Santa brought all of us beer.

Christmas Appetizer Rule #1:  It must have bacon or cream cheese (or both).

We hope that you had just as much fun as we did.
